Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of playcarioca.com and playcarioca.cl (the "Service"), operated by Carioca, LLC ("we," "us," "our"), a Washington State limited liability company. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

Alpha release

The Service is in early-access alpha. Features may change, break, or be removed. Downtime and data loss are possible. You participate at your own discretion.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

Your account

You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your password and account credentials secure.
  • All activity that occurs under your account.
  • Notifying us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent rated-stats eligibility, gain rated advantages, or evade suspension is grounds for termination.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Cheat — collude with other players, use automation, or exploit bugs to gain an unfair advantage.
  • Harass other players via chat, display name, avatar, or any other means.
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service's infrastructure, APIs, or protocols.
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation.
  • Upload illegal, infringing, or harmful content (including avatar images).

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules at our sole discretion.

Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit (chat messages, display name, avatar images, feedback submissions). You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and transmit that content to other players as needed to operate the Service.

Termination

  • By you: delete your account at any time by emailing [email protected] (English) or [email protected] (Español).
  • By us: we may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms, with or without notice.

Upon termination, your account and personal data will be deleted per our Privacy Policy. Some aggregated, anonymized game data may remain for statistical purposes.

No warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR THAT DATA WILL BE PRESERVED. This is alpha software.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Carioca, LLC, its members, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any lawsuit arising from these Terms will be brought in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington.

If you reside in the European Economic Area, nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under GDPR or EU consumer-protection laws. If you reside in Chile, nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under Ley 19.628 or Chilean consumer-protection laws. If you reside in a jurisdiction with mandatory consumer-protection statutes, those statutes apply notwithstanding this section.

Changes

We may modify these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app and by email, and we may require you to re-accept before continuing use.
